Thammasat University (TU) and SkillLane, Thailand’s leading online learning platform and digital training platform, have partnered to launch an online Master’s Degree in Data Science for Digital Transformation. This is part of TUXCA program, under which TU and SkillLane have jointly announced two more online Master’s degrees.
Assoc Prof Gasinee Witoonchart, the Rector of Thammasat University, reveals that TUXSA program is aimed at providing educational opportunities for Thai people. He says that the program is one of the key initiatives in the wake of disruption due to Covid-19.
“We also continue working on our mission to provide educational opportunity and be the knowledge market for the people. Therefore, we launched online Master degree courses for people to develop their skills for future disruption,” says Assoc Prof Gasinee.
Assoc.Prof.Dr.Charlie Charoeunlarpnopparat, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Thammasat University, also says that after our discussion, the university agreed to work with SkillLane and opened TUXSA program for application to general people without audit fees. The first 10,000 people who apply for the course will get one free online course on Data Science for Digital Business Transformation. The application will start from 21 to 30 April 2020.
“The main purpose of this program is to encourage online learning behavior at home and practice social distancing to stop the transmission of COVID-19. In addition, we also aim to provide everyone equal access to Thammasat’s learning course”, said the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs.
Mr.Thitipong Pisitwuttinun, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of SkillLane, also says that during this crisis, many people avoid going to community areas and spend most of their time at home to reduce the transmission of COVID-19. Therefore, we want to support people staying home and developing some useful skills by offering a free online course that they can learn anytime and anywhere via their smartphone or laptop.
