Amity University Haryana celebrates World Doctorates Day

Amity University Haryana is organising the 9th International Conference on Issues & Challenges in Doctoral Research (ICICDR) under the aegis of “Global Network of Doctorates” to commemorate World Doctorates Day on August 25, 2021.

This conference is a single platform internationally that invites ideas and recommendations from across the globe from the academic fraternity for the improvement in the quality of doctoral research. The conference aims to strengthen India’s mission for not only increased research contribution but also producing more doctorates who may become the drivers of India’s academic growth as enshrined in the NEP.

The event will be inaugurated by Prof. Dr Vijay P. Bhatkar, Chancellor, Nalanda University and President, Vijyan Bharti. He is popularly recognised as India’s Architect of Super -Computers.

The conference will have the presence of Founder President for Amity Education Group Dr Ashok K Chauhan and will be presided over by Dr Aseem Chauhan, Chancellor Amity University Haryana. who will preside over the conference. Prof Dr. Kamal Kant Dwivedi, Founder & Chairman of Global Network of Doctorates will be chairing the conference and presenting the genesis of the conference.

The Nobel Laureates Shri Kailash Satyarthi and Shri Mohammad Yunus, noted scientist Dr Raghunath Mashelkar and eminent educationist Dr J S Rajput will be addressing the conference virtually and share their rich thoughts and valuable guidance.

Nearly 40 eminent Speakers, including Vice Chancellors from 15+ Universities in India and abroad and Top academicians from educational institutions will address the conference.

The conference expects the participation of a large number of academicians, research scholars, faculty members and industry representatives from across the globe. Due to prevailing pandemic, the conference will be held in virtual mode.

Chitkara University ranks in the top 20 in India Today ‘Best Colleges Survey 2021’

Chitkara School of Hospitality has been ranked 4th in ‘Top 10 Private Emerging Hotel Management Colleges in India’ and 23rd in ‘Hotel Management Colleges in India’.

Chitkara University Institute of Engineering and Technology (CUIET) has been ranked 46th in ‘Top BCA Colleges in India’ and 47th in ‘Top Private Engineering Colleges in India’. Chitkara School of Planning and Architecture (CSAP) has been ranked 30th in ‘Top Architecture Colleges in India’. Chitkara School of Mass Communication (CSMC) was 35th in ‘Top Mass Communication Colleges in India’ and Chitkara Business School (CBS) was ranked 56th in ‘Top BBA Colleges in India’.

Colleges were ranked across 14 streams-arts, science, commerce, medical, dental, engineering, architecture, law, mass communication, hotel management, BBA, BCA, fashion and social work. India Today has partnered with the reputed Delhi-based market research agency Marketing and Development Research Associates (MDRA) to rank colleges across 14 streams.

The agency created 112 performance indicators in each stream. Intake Quality & Governance, Academic Excellence, Infrastructure & Living Experience, Personality & Leadership Development, and Career Progression & Placement were the five main factors that were used to group these variables.

They also tried to figure out how universities prepared for the pandemic. MDRA evaluated universities using current-year data in order to provide realistic, relevant, and accurate information. Between December 2020 and June 2021, the groundwork was completed.

Amity University Chhattisgarh and UNICEF Chhattisgarh sign strategic partnership to ensure clean water supply in rural homes

Amity University Chhattisgarh (AUC) and UNICEF Chhattisgarh signed a Programme Corporation Agreement for Jal Jeevan Mission to ensure clean tap water supply in every rural home. This noble and life changing mission has taken deep roots and is taking a shape of people’s movement.

The tribal region of Chhattisgarh has been battling with the issue of groundwater depletion and chemical contamination. Understanding the need and a visible gap for Clean Water, the priority is given on water quality surveillance through active participation of the university’s deployment of B. Tech Graduates as Project Associates as well as involving the local community. Chhattisgarh State has planned to provide 100% Functional Tap Water Connection (FHTC) by 2023 thus contributing to UN SDGs.

To achieve the objective of providing improved and sustainable drinking water services in
rural communities through Jal Jivan Mission, the Project associates from Amity University Chhattisgarh would focus on water distribution networks, water quality management, sources sustainability, sustainable service delivery (including operation and maintenance), building professional capacity and strengthening decentralized governance.

This includes overall monitoring, establishment and strengthening decentralized contract management systems that are timely, transparent, accountable and adhere to state government guidelines for the mission.

Amity University Chhattisgarh, built on the genesis of innovation and research would also work on New water purification technologies like smart water purifiers and auto- aintenance systems, paving the way to a better future. The introduction of IoT technology, sensors, and data-driven approach in water purification by tech-support would be showing the ray of hope to solve this problem. W

Chitkara University ranks 5th across India in the MHW rankings 2021

Chitkara University has achieved 5th Rank across India and has been positioned in the ‘A1 Band: Institute of Excellence’ category in the MHW Rankings 2021 in pursuit of excellence towards ‘Best Institute for Campus Life’.

The rankings were released on July 5th, 2021. Academic and non-academic learning is infused with fun and pleasant components to make learning a highly productive and enjoyable exercise and experience for students at a university that prioritises Mental Health and Wellbeing (MHW). Measuring a campus’s true happiness index is a mammoth effort, as it entails a plethora of separate but interconnected criteria.

The MHW Ranking 2021 for Indian Institutions are honoured as, Private University of Eminence – Super Excellence Category; and, three bands, A1, A2 and A3 Bands for Institution of Excellence. Other universities that have been placed in the A1 Band category include Dr Vishwanath Karad’s MIT World Peace University, REVA University, Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education, Parul University, JECRC University and ICFAI University among others.

The first step involved in ranking the university was to create a list of all Indian universities and higher education institutions. Mentee-Mentor Establishment, Life Beyond The Classroom and Life at the Hostel, Institute Happiness Index, and Overall Satisfaction Level were the essential metrics assessed.

The methodology was primarily focused on the Data Validation and Verification of all key information compiled by each HEI, with information/perception in the public domain being included later.

Chitkara University becomes India’s first university to get “PLATINUM” rating by QS I-GUAGE

Chitkara University becomes the first university in India to have been awarded the  ‘Platinum’ rating by QS I-GAUGE, a comprehensive and independent rating system for India’s universities and colleges.

Chitkara University was rated ‘Platinum’ in four key indicators: ‘ Employability,’ ‘Facilities,’ ‘Entrepreneurship,’ and ‘Governance & Structure.’ In the other five indicators, namely, ‘Research,’ ‘Teaching & Learning,’ ‘Faculty Quality,’ ‘Diversity and Accessibility,’ and ‘Social Responsibility, the university was rated ‘Diamond’.

Chitkara University works diligently on all aspects of quality assurance for continuous improvement and has always strived to promote ‘holistic and world-class teaching,learning, and research experience. Seven National/International Funding Agencies have recently granted the university 02 Crore of Funding for undertaking cutting-edge research.

The university also has on record Intellectual Property of 1700 plus Scopus Indexed Research Publications and 700 patents (filed), which stands as a testimony to the university’s focus on knowledge creation and dissemination.

The Award Certificate was presented during the Facilitation Ceremony at The Taj, Bangalore, by Dr. Ashwin Fernandes, QS Regional Director – Middle East, Africa & South Asia & CEO QS I-GAUGE. During the ceremony, he shared and cited that “Indian Universities are doing well and increasingly focussing on quality education despite all odds. We make special mention of Chitkara University for their clear and diligent data and document presentation”.

He further added, “I am pretty impressed with Chitkara University’s growth and its remarkable work for Research Publications, Patents, Employability & Entrepreneurship. My best wishes to the university for upcoming rankings of QS and hope the university will perform well in all other international/national rankings.”

Citing the rigorous process preceding the rating, Dr Archana Mantri, Vice-Chancellor, said, “QS I-GAUGE follows a rigorous and comprehensive institutional rating procedure, and the application process can become cumbersome and time-consuming for the unprepared applicants, but owing to Chitkara University’s process-centric approach to teaching, research and learning, we were ready with all the documentation even before we started the application process.  I am happy that the wonderful teamwork and quality education at Chitkara University finally has the recognition of QS I -GAUGE.”

Dr. K.K Mishra, Associate Director, IQAC, Chitkara University, who also led the rigorous process at the university, shared that, “Keeping in consideration the fact that QS I-GAUGE employs a very rigorous rating methodology, we were sure of our quality benchmarks and data insights from the very beginning of the rating process.”
