LCCM Kickstarts 2021 QuaranStream Events with British Soul Icon, Beverley Knight MBE

London College of Creative Media (LCCM) will be hosting British modern soul superstar, Beverley Knight MBE on Monday 11 January at 7pm for the first ‘QuaranStream’ event of 2021.

After a successful run of music industry events in 2020, LCCM is launching a new series of exclusive virtual interviews. Connecting live via Zoom from LCCM’s Music Box campus, attendees can expect a no-holds-barred hour of conversation and insightful Q&A session with one of the UK’s leading female singers and performers.

Beverley Knight has sold over one million albums in the UK, including four gold certified albums. Her most recent solo album, ‘Soulsville’ was released in June 2016 and went straight into the UK Top 10. In 2013, she debuted in the West End in the starring role as Rachel Marron in ‘The Bodyguard’ in 2013, which she reprised in 2017 for productions in London and Toronto.

She was awarded an MBE by the Queen in 2007 for services to British music and charity, has won three MOBO Awards, and has been nominated for Best Female at the Brit Awards three times as well as for the prestigious Mercury Music Prize.

JD Donovan, Creative Industries Liaison at LCCM, said: “We are beyond excited to welcome Beverley for one of our QuaranStreams. She is the indisputable ‘Queen of British Soul’ and to have her speaking to us is an unbeatable experience for our students and attendees from our Youth Music network.

“Our QuaranStream events have been a real highlight in the dark times of 2020 and we’ve hit on a winning formula being able to broadcast directly to attendees, wherever they are. It’s been amazing to see how many have tuned in so far and we can’t wait for more in 2021.”

LCCM’s ‘QuaranStream’ is a series of sector-leading events, featuring experts, professionals and speakers from the music and creative industries. The initiative was launched in the summer of 2020 as a means to continue providing students with a platform where they could gain insider knowledge and better understand their career prospects.

Over the past year, LCCM has hosted a ‘whos-who’ of the contemporary music industry for their QuaranStream interviews and masterclasses. Previous guests have included: Grammy Award winner, Jacob Collier; genre-defying composer and instrumentalist, Nitin Sawhney CBE; R&B singer-songwriter, Sasha Keable; and classical-crossover singer and cellist, Ayanna Witter-Johnson.
