    UNAIR nursing students win gold medal in Shanghai, China

    UNIVERSITAS AIRLANGGA NEWS – Universitas Airlangga’s Faculty of Nursing (FKp) students won a gold medal and special award in 2019 International Exhibition of Invention (SIEI) competition in Shanghai, China, from Thursday, April 18, 2018 until Saturday, April 20, 2019.

    The FKp UNAIR Delegation were Handini Indah, Dwi Yanti Rachmasari Tartila, Shavira, and Rezkisa Dwi Prambudia. The student had the idea of ​​using jackfruit leaves as a healing medicine for wounds.

    The innovation was originated from Dwi Yanti from Madura Island who found Madurese residents using jackfruit leaves as a cure for wounds. After searching for the efficacy of jackfruit leaves as a wound healing medicine, they innovated to make an open wound healing ointment made from jackfruit leaf extract.

    The product is made of natural material, easy to carry, and is a new innovation that has never existed before. The open wound healing process using JF Ointment takes 3 to 7 days to work through regular use on a daily basis.

    In SIEI event, Dwi Yanti compete with teams of Universitas Brawijaya (UB), Diponegoro University (UNDIP), Sebelas Maret University (UNS), Riau University (UNRI), and Ahmad Dahlan University Yogyakarta (UAD).  “Thank God, we can get this award. This is an achievement and we’re quite excited when it was announced and it turned out well as expected. Not to forget the support and prayers of parents that keep us going and certainly want to contribute in realizing UNAIR towards 500 World Class University, “said Rezkisa, one of the team members. (*)
