Dr. Opas Kankavinpong, Deputy director-general of the Department of Disease Control, was a chief in an ISO certification award ceremony. He gave ISO 15189:2012 and ISO 15190:2003 to a medical laboratory, which means that it attains international standard. The award was given to Assoc.Prof.Dr.Plaiwan Suttanon, Dean of Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, as she is in charge of the healthcare service center. This healthcare service center is cooperation between Thammasat’s Faculty of Allied Health Sciences and MP Group Thailand, a leading medical diagnostic tools company in Thailand. The awarding ceremony was held at Asst.Prof.Dr.Kampol Rujivitch’s meeting room, 6th floor, Piyachart Building, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Thammasat University, Rangsit campus.
Healthcare service center by Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Thammasat University attained the laboratory accreditation, ISO 15189:2012 and ISO 15190:2003. This healthcare service center is cooperation between government agency, Thammasat’s Faculty of Allied Health Sciences and private sector, MP Group Thailand. It is one in the 200 laboratories that get a certificate in Thailand.
The Healthcare Service Center by Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Thammasat University was officially launched in 2013, in order to serve patients with full medical services or one stop service. Faculty of Allied Health Sciences produces quality medical laboratory scientists and decides to work with MP Group Thailand, a company that imports and distributes medical tools. We work together to provide medical laboratory that will serve with full professional medical services. In the past few years, we provide medical check-up service for patients from private and public sector. We serve factory and state enterprise employees. We provide medical check-up in community, school, and government agency, including staff in university. In addition, we have research unit. Currently, the services that we provide are blood test,Urine Analysis, Mobile X-ray car, Occupational Health Examination, Biologic Monitoring, Biomolecular Laboratory, Alpha-thalassemia test.
It is cooperation between private and public sector in enhancing healthcare center to be a state organization that helps contribute to Thai society. This healthcare center will provide services to people in communities and personnel. It will enhance its organization and services with full-coverage medical services and advanced quality IT. With advanced innovation, patients and residents can access to accurate medical information and diagnosis. In addition, patients can consult with medical experts from the university after getting services.
Our primary goal is to improve the medical services in healthcare center so we applied for ISO accreditation for our medical laboratory and attained ISO 15189:2012 and ISO 15190:2003 on the 4th September. All in all, this healthcare service center is a combined effort between Thammasat’s Faculty of Allied Health Sciences and MP Group Thailand, a leading medical diagnostic tools company in Thailand. Mr. Rittichai Srivijarn, Chairman of MP Group, and Ms. Natthaporn Boonbuppa, CEO of MP Group, hope that high technology IT and analysis system and ISO 15189:2012 and ISO 15190:2003 will enhance Thai medical center and improve Thai people’s health.
