    President University Won Silver Medal for 2019 Student Digital Innovation Competition through a Video Entitled “Inclusive Education for Students with Disabilities”

    President University has succeeded to bring home a silver medal of the 2019 Student Digital Innovation Competition (LIDM). The competition was organized by the Ministry of Education and Culture with Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) as the host of the competition. LIDM 2019 was held in 3 days, 14-16 November 2019.

    Alexander Yordan Mulia (Visual Communication Design 2017), Cynthia Johan (International Relations 2017), Kelvin Irvandy (International Relations 2017), and La Ode Rifaldi Nedan Prakasa (International Relations 2017) formed a team which is called Asterism team and represented President University in Division III, which is the Video Creation Division. In this division, participants are required to make a video on the theme of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) based on education that can provide solutions for current issues, especially in the 4.0 era. After going through the first online selection phase, 10 groups with the best videos were invited to enter the final round at UNY. In the final stage, participants were asked to prepare a presentation as a form of accountability for the video. The Asterism Team from President University presented a video titled “Inclusive Education for Students with Disabilities”. The video reviews the urgency of education accessibility for those with special needs and how the role of government, society, and stakeholders could improve the accessibility of education.

    President University came out as the second winner, with the first winner from Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia and followed by the Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia and Universitas Muslim Indonesia as the third and fourth winners. There was a total of 27 universities participated in the competition.

    The Head of Student Affairs of President University, as well as the mentor of Asterism team Agus Sofian Eka Hidayat, S.Pd., M.Ed., M.Sc, revealed that university will always support the students to get their achievement. “I hope President University students can continue to excel with the campus’ full support. I’m sure that President University students have the capability and high enthusiasm to participate in national and international competitions also further to win that competition,” said Agus.
