President University Mootcourt Society Visited the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia

As an organization that focuses on the judicial practice training activities, the President University Mootcourt Society (PUMS) visited the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia or Mahkamah Konstitusi Republik Indonesia (MK RI) in Jakarta (14/2).

In this visit, the students who are parts of the PUMS met Pan Mohamad Faiz, S.H., M.C.L., Ph.D. from the Pusat Penelitian dan Pengkajian Perkara at MK RI. The presentation of the discussion material was very exciting due to the high enthusiasm of the students as seen during the question and answer session.

Ruth Sianipar, a student of the Law Study Program at President University who was also the participant of this visit expressed her happiness to get the chance to enter the magnificent building of MK RI. “I collected important information from this visit that the discrepancy between the regulation or Undang-undang (UU) and the 1945 State Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia can be reported directly to MK RI as they have provided the service from Sabang to Merauke, thus it would be more beneficial for us who want to review UU ought to be problematic,” said Ruth.

Ruth added, “As a law student, I hope I can contribute to the betterment of Indonesia together with MK RI. Let’s make Indonesia happier as our form of gratitude for lending us its land to grow up and develop well.”

Currently, PUMS serves as the platform to prepare students to compete in a court simulation or better known as moot court competition. President University hopes PUMS can maximize its contribution to training and preparing the students with practical knowledge and skills that can take them towards winning national and international moot court competitions.
