    Multimedia University Students Enjoy Indonesian Culture and Higher Education at Universitas Mercu Buana, Jakarta

    Multimedia University’s Faculty of Business has collaborated with the Faculty of Communication of Universitas Mercu Buana to conduct an exciting 2-week international student exchange programme in Jakarta for a total of 22 students from Malaysia from 29 October until 12 November 2018. At the welcoming event, the Vice Rector of Universitas Mercu Buana, Prof Dr Dana Santoso Saroso shared on the importance of internationalisation on student development and foresees many more collaboration of this nature with universities from other countries in the region.

    The exchange students from Multimedia University have participated in various workshops organised by Universitas Mercu Buana in Jakarta such as social media campaigns, video production, advertising and cultural performances which include the Tari Saman and Gamelan. Many more interesting events and activities such as visits to the National Monument, Mini Indonesia and the Ministry of Communication and Information have been lined up for the group.

    Outbound international exchange programmes are organised by Multimedia University to enable its students to develop a global mindset and to be exposed to the the rich and vibrant cultures of the world. Associate Professor Dr Gerald Goh, Dean of the Faculty of Business explains that the exchange programme will equip the participants with the global skills to be highly employable in view of the global nature of employment opportunities. It will also enhance their soft skills in communicating with people from different cultures and being immersed in the exciting Jakarta city life for two weeks is a wonderful experience for the students, he adds.
