    Indonesia’s 74th Independence Day: President University ready to produce excellent human resources

    Human resource development (HR) is the key to Indonesia’s success in the future. Indonesia’s Human Resources must excel in all fields so that they can compete globally, especially when entering the industrial era 4.0.

    This was revealed by the Director of President Community College (AKP), Dr. Ir. Erman Suparno, MBA., MSi. while reading the remarks by the Minister of Research in Technology and Higher Education, Prof. Muhammad Nasir at the Republic of Indonesia’s 74th Independence Day Ceremony which was held by the President University Foundation (17/8).

    Erman who was the inspector of the ceremony said, “In creating excellent human resources, universities must appear as the frontline in producing competitive human resources in the future.”

    He also explained that developing infrastructure in industrial advancement is not enough, it is also must be supported by improving the quality of human resources. This human resources improvement can be achieved by improving education to carry out technological advancements in line with the advancement of the industrial era 4.0.

    Furthermore, he revealed that the demographic bonus that Indonesia got must be truly optimized by producing excellent human resources. “The role of universities as agents of change is awaited by this nation to answer all the challenges that exist,” said the man who was the Minister of Manpower and Transmigration 2005-2009.

    Responding to this, the Rector of President University mentioned that President University is ready to produce excellent human resources to develop Indonesia.

    Held at the President University Convention Center, the ceremony was attended by all units of the President University Foundation, including President Special Needs Center, President Kindergarten, President Elementary School, President Junior High School, President Senior High School, President Community College, dan President University.

    Besides the flag ceremony, on this occasion, there was a special performance from Presidenta Lokananta, the President Senior High School Marching Band and a series of folk song dances performed by a joint team of President Kindergarten, President Elementary School, President Junior High School, and President Senior High School.

    In addition, the Republic of Indonesia’s 74th Independence Day is interpreted as a moment of unifying the nation and we have an obligation to maintain and develop the results of this independence. President University which has students from various regions in Indonesia is the right place to practice this unity. Related to that, the Rector of President University Prof. Dr. Jony Oktavian Haryanto advised, “Keep unity spirit, preserve Bhinneka Tunggal Ika, Merdeka!”
