FINEnancial, a Financial Consulting Service by President University Students

Three Business students of President University batch 2017 have established FINEnancial, a financial consulting service for students. Pioneered by Calvin Mandala Saputra Telaumbanua, Nia Nur Wahidah Malik, and Lucia Elshadai Lastria Monita Manik, FINEnancial provides financial consultation to increase the literacy among youth surrounding the topic of investment while supporting them to solve their financial issues.

“Initially this financial consulting service was established to fulfill the Start-Up Course that we take in this semester. However, during its establishment, we thought, why don’t we turn this plan into an actual business?” Calvin explained as he was telling the starting point of FINEnancial.

Started their branding campaign by opening up a stand at the university lobby, FINEnancial has now been busy providing consulting services to their clients both in persons and via social media. Calvin admitted that many students consulted similar concerns on how to manage their monthly funds. “We actively upload tips and tricks on how to manage your monthly fund for students, so that at the end of the month they can still eat healthily, not only instant noodles,” he explained laughingly.

Right now Calvin, Nia, and Lucia actively run their start-up business with the help and mentoring from a business incubator from President University known as SetSail BizAccel (SetSail). Calvin stated, “SetSail currently supports us by giving mentoring and permission to utilize all SetSail facilities as we need. Of course, this will be very much helpful for our business.” SetSail itself is part of President University’s effort to support its students to be an entrepreneur.

The three hope that FINEnancial can further develop into an application that can be utilized by many more young people to increase their literacy to invest.
