    FBM UiTM Malaysia & FEB UNTAG Surabaya Indonesia’s International Symposium

    The annual international symposium between Faculty of Business and Management (FBM) Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Malaysia and Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) University of 17 August 1945 (UNTAG) Surabaya Indonesia entered into the second year in 2019. This collaboration displays a close relationship that has been forged since the signing of MoU between the two institutions in 2018.

    The event in 2019 was held at Surabaya Indonesia after its maiden ceremony was held in Shah Alam Malaysia in 2018. Eight postgraduate students and six lecturers from FBM participated in this event.

    The entourage was led by Dr Amirul Afif Muhamat, Head of Department for Postgraduate and Professional Studies, FBM, accompanied by Dr Muhammad Hafiz Abd Rashid, Postgraduate Research Coordinator, Dr Nor Farradilla Abdul Aziz, Head of Corporate Communication and Strategic Planning and Dr Azilah Anis, Professional Programme Coordinator.

    The international symposium was officiated by the Dean of Faculty of Economics and Business UNTAG Surabaya, Dr Slamet Riyadi. The theme was “Today’s Research; Tomorrow’s Future: Towards Industrial Revolution 4.0.”  Dr Slamet Riyadi welcomed the FBM delegation and wished to see better cooperation in future between the two institutions. Dr Amirul Afif, in his closing speech thanked the organizer, academic staff and students for organizing the event and commented that this event has “strengthened the strategic partnership between the two institutions.”

    In her keynote speech, Prof Dr Ida Aju Brahmasari, from UNTAG emphasised on the impact of IR 4.0 towards the management of human resources and preparation to face the challenges.  Dr Nor Farradilla Abdul Aziz from UiTM later stressed on the benefits of IR 4.0 from the perspective of financial technology, FinTech. The session continued with parallel sessions where the presenters shared their research findings, followed by discussions on future collaboration. This event also successfully achieved one of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) i.e SDG4 on quality education.
