    Dairi Regent: President University curriculum helps regional development

    University with the international environment, especially in terms of mastering foreign languages greatly contributes to the development of human resources (HR). In this case, the use of English as the main language in President University, Cikarang will increase the quality of the graduates who enter the work sphere.

    This was stated by the Dairi Regent Dr. Eddy Berutu in the MoU signing between the Dairi District Government and President University in Menara Batavia, Jakarta (22/7). Besides Eddy Berutu, the MoU signing was also attended by Handa Abidin, S.H, LL. M, Ph.D as the representative of President University.

    This collaboration was motivated by the existence of opportunities for the two parties in the field of human resources quality improvement in Dairi district and establish a good relationship between the two parties. Until now, there are around 10 students from Dairi who have received scholarships from President University.

    “The students feel happy and think that President University has helped them to be ready to enter the real work-life because the English environment provided,” Eddy said while commenting about Dairi students who are currently studying at President University.

    Eddy stated he would like to invite President University to visit Dairi District someday. He hopes President University can visit some high schools in Dairi and meet prospective students. Furthermore, Eddy also plans to provide scholarships from the Regency Government by providing tuition fees and living expenses for students.

    With this collaboration, it is hoped that Dairi students studying at the President University will return to build Dairi District to be better and better known internationally.

    In addition, the event began with a book review by S.D. Darmono, the founder of Jababeka Group and President University, entitled Think Big, Start Small, Move Fast. The book contains the experience of S. D. Darmono and discusses leadership and character building. The event was attended by students, the PATA (Asia Pacific Travel Association), who also collaborated with Dairi District, as well as representatives from ASITA (Association of Indonesian Travel Companies) and ASTINDO (Association of Indonesian Aviation Ticket Sales Companies).
