    ACICIS Jakarta Professional Practica 2020

    Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia (AJCUI) once again received Australian students by the Jakarta Professional Practica 2020 program. These students were participants in The Australian Consortium for ‘In-Country’ Indonesia Studies (ACICIS).

    This year will be conducting three programs, which is Law Professional Practicum (LPP), Business Professional Practicum (BPP), and Journalism Professional Practicum (JPP). It will be the third year for LPP to join Jakarta Professional Practica since it is a pilot project debut who gains a vast interest from Australian Students.

    Starting from the preparation in January up until the placement process to the end of the program in February 2020, each professional practicum program will supervise by an  Academic Program Officers (APO). Their role is to give an assessment and evaluation of the students’ performance. This year, a lecturer in the Law Faculty Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia, Dr. Selvie Sinaga, is being appointed as an APO for Law Professional Practicum. Selvie teaches international law, intellectual property law, English law, and treaty law.

    Elisabeth Rukmini Ph.D., Vice-Rector for Research and Collaboration, appreciate the continuous relations between AJCUI and ACICIS since 2007. This collaboration was initially introduced by Administration Bussiness Science and Communication Science Faculty (FIABIKOM) AJCUI, with only managing a few programs. These days it involving other faculty and unit and undertake several other projects.

    “We hope that these good relations will thrive for years to come. It is a good thing not only for cooperation between institutions but also for sustainable relations between the two countries. I hope this activity may become a chance to learn for Indonesian and Australian students,” said Elisabeth on the Opening Ceremony Jakarta Professional Practica 2020 in Semanggi Campus AJCUI, Thursday (2/1/2020).

    ACICIS is a non-profit international educational consortium of 23 Australian Universities and two universities in the UK and the Netherlands. Its’ headquarters is at The University of Western Australia, Perth. In Indonesia, the offices managed by a few local staff and one Resident Director. These offices located in Yogyakarta, Jakarta, Bogor, and Bandung.
