Chula Receives Outstanding Recognition

The Faculty of Veterinary Science, Chulalongkorn University, has been honored with the RDU Excellence Awards 2026 in the RDU Education Excellence category, receiving the Outstanding Award as a model educational institution for excellence in teaching Rational Drug Use (RDU). The award was presented during the RDU Knowledge Fair 2026, a national conference held on July 9, 2026, at the Centara Life Government Complex Hotel & Convention Centre Chaeng Watthana.

Professor Dr. Kaywalee Chatdarong, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Science, accepted the award on behalf of the faculty from Mr. Pattana Promphat, Deputy Minister of Public Health.

This recognition reflects the faculty’s strong commitment to systematically integrating Rational Drug Use (RDU) into its curriculum and teaching. By combining expertise in pharmacology, veterinary clinical practice, and evidence-based medicine, the faculty aims to produce veterinarians who possess the knowledge, professional competence, ethics, and integrity to prescribe and use medications effectively, safely, and responsibly.

The program also aligns with the One Health approach, which recognizes the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health. Through promoting appropriate medication use, reducing unnecessary drug use, and supporting sustainable healthcare practices, the faculty contributes to strengthening Thailand’s healthcare system.

This achievement is the result of the collective efforts of the faculty members and staff of the Faculty of Veterinary Science, led by Associate Professor Dr. Chenphop Sawangmake, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Chair of the faculty’s committee on Rational Drug Use and Medical Devices. Together, the committee has continuously advanced the development of RDU-focused education and training.

The RDU Excellence Awards 2026 reaffirm the Faculty of Veterinary Science’s high standards in veterinary education and its commitment to producing qualified veterinarians who will play a vital role in promoting rational drug use and contributing to the long-term sustainability of Thailand’s healthcare system.
