    Why we need to imagine different futures

    TED Fellow Anab Jain shared at TED 2017 on some of the possible futures that we foresee using advanced technologies. Jain’s projects demonstrate the importance of fighting for the world we want.

    However, to visualise and develop tools required for the creation of the futuristic machines showcased by Jain during her presentation, a university education is much needed. Universities and colleges provide learners with the necessary knowledge, critical-thinking skills and creative experience which are fundamental for the creation of a future we want.

    Therefore, how can universities and industry better work together to create a learning and working environment that can help better prepare students for the future and equip them with the skills needed to create a future that they can be connected with, and would bring out positive consequences?
