Education is the most important element that provides a nation with the ability to create an advanced industrial society and a prosperous economy. It also provides residents to be engaged and participate extensively in society.
An outstanding education provides students with the opportunities to develop, be challenged and anticipate differences so as to be prepared for the future. The education system has to be constantly updated to truly suit the needs of the students; and provide educators with sufficient freedom so that they are able to realise their full potential as well.
The importance of ICT has been recognised by the industry and is becoming gradually relevant in the provision of top-notch education. In recent years, there has been an increasing number of institutions tapping onto ICT through a systematic framework. This also illustrates ICT use being parallel to the sectors’ strategic plans; thereby marking a shift from individual issues to collective needs.
ICT also plays an essential role in the fulfillment of the various objectives including (1) paying closer attention to pupil and student talent (2) making professionalism a priority (3) making education viable and forward-looking. It is no longer a question about the use of ICT, but rather how ICT can actually help improve the success rates in education. The education sphere intent to utilise ICT in the enhancement of the quality, effectiveness and efficiency of education.
At present, the promotion of education is only possible with the availability of relevant resources. In addition, to make certain that the utilisation of ICT can meet the primary objectives, educational resources must be aligned with teaching practices and learning objectives. This is only possible if education professionals are able to determine and utilise the best integration of resources for students; and receive support in the application of digital teaching methods.
University-industry partnerships are also necessary to make certain of the availability of modern educational resources so as to ensure that these resources are able to meet the specific needs of education.
