    Lecturer from UiTMLaw, Malaysia won the Young IP Scholar Award for 5th Asian IP Works in Progress Conference 2020 at City University, Hong Kong

    The IP (Intellectual Property) Asia Work in Progress Conference initiated by Singapore Management University (SMU), Singapore provides an open annual forum for scholars across Asian economies, researching and writing on Asian IP laws and regimes to present and discuss their works-in-progress. This year, from about more than 100 abstracts received all over Asia, 51 were selected for the Young Asian IP Scholar Award where the researchers were fully sponsored (flight and accommodation) to the conference venue. The Young IP Scholar award is to promote and encourage the study of Asian IP laws for the betterment of IP regimes in Asia and beyond. This award is for PhD and graduate students who are from ASEAN, South Asia and Central Asia. Full coverage of return tickets and accommodation of three nights (excluding visa fee) were provided for the award winners. Mrs. Farizah Mohamed Isa, from UiTMLaw (Faculty of Law, Universiti Teknologi MARA) was among the candidates selected and the only candidate from a Law Faculty in Malaysia who won the award. Mrs. Farizah is also currently the Coordinator of IP Management at the university.
