IRWB 2025 – UiTM’s Faculty of Accountancy

It is a pleasure to announce the successful completion of the inaugural International Research Writing Bootcamp (IRWB) 2025, held from 30th May to 2nd June, in Bukittinggi, Indonesia. This meaningful event was the result of a collaborative effort between our faculty, the Faculty of Accountancy, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Accounting Research Institute, Universitas Andalas, and Universitas Riau, with the shared goal of enhancing high-impact research writing and strengthening regional academic collaboration.

We are proud to share some of the key outcomes from IRWB 2025:

1.       A total of 52 research papers were submitted by our dedicated participants.

2.       Every UiTM author also served as a reviewer, fostering a unique reciprocal authorship model.

3.       We networked with over 60 participants from universities in Indonesia, Maldives, and Pakistan.

4.       A roundtable discussion was held with the Dean of Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Andalas and Deputy Dean of Economics and Business, Universitas Riau, covering research collaborations, matching grants, mobility programs, visiting professorships, and joint supervision.

5.       Two Letters of Intent were agreed to be formalised for a summer camp course with the Faculty of Accountancy, UiTM.

6.       A roundtable discussion was also held with representatives of Maldives National University on a potential MoU and co-organising IRWB 2026.

7.       We also hosted an International Community Service session on SME sustainability, in collaboration with Universitas Andalas and Universitas Riau, featuring Dr. Shahril as a guest speaker.

This milestone would not have been possible without the unwavering support and hard work of many individuals. My heartfelt thanks to our Dean, Prof. Norli, for her full support; to AP Dr. Farizal and Prof. Razana for making this bootcamp a reality; and to all our academics who took part and even became the “impromptu” committee towards the end.

May this bootcamp be the beginning of many more fruitful collaborations to come.
