    Internationalisation of the higher education classroom: strategies to facilitate intercultural learning and academic success

    The exponential growth of international students has led to the possibility of intercultural learning while establishing cross-cultural relationships. This intercultural sensitivity is fundamental as businesses begin to go global where cross-cultural relationships and understanding are required. International students offer diverse cultural experiences, expectations and learning methods to the higher education classroom that lead to the introduction of alternate viewpoints.

    Faculty can comprehensively leverage this cultural diversity while addressing the academic needs of students through effective teaching methods in a globalised classroom and mindfulness of the cultural diversity present in the classroom. Educators can also furnish learning opportunities, both academic and socially, that meet the needs of host and international students required for effective communication in a globalised workforce.
