HUFS offers a Korean language course for teachers from 48 countries

From July 17 to 24, 2017, HUFS held a capacity-building course for 132 Korean language teachers from 48 countries at its Global Campus, under the sponsorship of the Overseas Korean Foundation.

With a theme of “Korean schools connect Korean people,” the program offers a variety of learning opportunities on Korean language teaching methods and Korean history and culture, helping participants improve their teaching abilities, enhance knowledge of their ethnicity, and boost their morale.

On the first day of the course, HUFS hosted a welcoming luncheon for the participants at the Global Campus. HUFS President, Kim In-Chul, stated in his welcoming remarks, “I would like to extend a whole-hearted welcome to all of you: teachers at Korean language schools, dedicated to overseas Korean language education and proud of your Korean ethnicity.” He added, “I hope this course will serve as an excellent opportunity to share your teaching experience and work towards cooperation through various exchange activities.”

During the course, the participants listened to special lectures entitled ‘Korean Language: A Language of Communication’ and ‘Korean History Revisited from the Perspective of the Korean Language,’ ‘Korean as a Global Language and Korean Culture.’ They are also going to attend a series of sessions on Korean pronunciation and grammar.
