    Faculty of Computer & Mathematical Sciences, UiTM student to speak on cyber security at NanoSec Conference 2019

    Mohd Shahril Bin Zainol Abidin, a final year student from the Faculty of Computer & Mathematical Sciences, UiTM, Malaysia will be one of the speakers at the second annual NanoSec Conference 2019 which will be held at the InterContinental Hotel, Kuala Lumpur on 9th October 2019.  NanoSec, a technical Information Security conference that focuses on all things security for Asia Pacific region, specifically Malaysia aims to provide the platform for young Asian researchers, professionals and academics to present their cutting-edge papers to the audience.  The speakers are selected based on tech-savvy talent which focuses on everything related to security.

    Mohd Shahril, a Bachelor of Information Technology (Intelligent Systems Engineering) student will share his research paper entitled “Malware Classification using Deep Learning”. His research under the supervision of Mr. Mohd. Razif Shamsuddin and Dr Fakariah Hani Hj Mohd Ali won the best final year project award at the Faculty in January 2019. He also actively participates in cyber-security hacking competitions, both locally and at international level. He won several competitions at university level, national level and international level. In 2019, Shahril and his team obtained the 1st place in the F-Secure Intervarsity Cyber Security competition and last year he won 1st place at the KPMG Cyber Security Challenge 2018 and 3rd place at the Google’s Games 2018 edition.  His interest in the area of cyber security led him to a deep understanding and acquiring of knowledge in this area.
