Chulalongkorn University and Toyota Motor Thailand Co., Ltd. jointly held the presentation ceremony for the Toyota Motor Thailand Scholarship for the 2025 academic year, marking the program’s 53rd year of support. The ceremony took place on June 24, 2026, at Room 202, Chamchuri 4 Building, Chulalongkorn University.
The event was opened by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sukanya Sompaiboon, Vice President of Chulalongkorn University, who delivered the welcoming remarks. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pakorn Varanusupakul, Assistant to the President for Student Affairs, presented a report on the scholarship program. This was followed by a speech from Mr. Surapoom Udomwong, Executive Vice President of Toyota Motor Thailand Co., Ltd.
A total of 12 scholarships were awarded to Chula students. On behalf of the recipients, Mr. Witsanuporn Promsirinimit, a fourth-year student from the Faculty of Engineering, expressed gratitude to the university and Toyota. The ceremony concluded with the presentation of a commemorative gift from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sukanya Sompaiboon to Toyota Motor Thailand’s executive representative.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sukanya Sompaiboon expressed her sentiments of appreciation to Toyota Motor Thailand for its long-standing partnership with the university. She noted that more than financial assistance, the scholarship provides opportunity, hope, and encouragement for students to overcome economic challenges and pursue their educational goals. She also encouraged the recipients to make the most of this opportunity and, in the future, contribute positively to society.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pakorn Varanusupakul highlighted that since 1973 Toyota Motor Thailand has continuously supported Chulalongkorn University students, providing scholarships for academically outstanding and well-behaved students with financial need. Over the past 53 years (1973–2025), the company has awarded as many as 1,639 scholarships totaling 23.44 million baht.
For the 2025 academic year, 12 students from seven faculties received scholarships: the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Political Science, Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, and Faculty of Science.
