    UiTM Malaysia- Experience Malaysia @ Faculty of Business and Management International Summer Program 2019

    Faculty of Business and Management (FBM), UiTM and Office of International Affairs (OIA), UiTM jointly organised an International Summer Program on 14th – 25th July 2019 for twenty students, accompanied by one lecturer, from Yunnan University of Finance and Economics. The program is a part of UiTM’s internationalization agenda.

    The main aim of the program is to provide the students from Yunnan University of Finance and Economics an exposure on Malaysia and its cultural diversity.

    Faculty of Business and Management student’s, who were buddies for this program also learnt from the experiences while dealing with the international students.

    The participants of this program were treated to several modules that got them engaged in cultural similarity and diversity of personal and business engagement through the learning of leadership organisation behaviour, negotiations and global integration issues. The module also exposed the students to the importance of technology from the exposure to digital marketing and advertising ideas.

    The students had an exciting field trip to Bursa Malaysia and Sunshine Kingdom Sdn. Bhd which  gave them a better exposure to the theory   they learnt in class. The participants also had a cultural trip to Batu Caves and a tour of Kuala Lumpur which gave them an insight of the cultural diversity and uniqueness of Malaysian culture.

    The participants also went to UNESCO’s World Heritage Site – the City of Malacca. Here, they were given an opportunity to trace back the long relationship between Malaysia and China which was established during the Malay Malacca Sultanate. The exploration of Malaysia was completed with a day trip to Sekinchan, Selangor where the participants explore the paddy and corn field, experience the Malay village lifestyle and visit the local chips and cake factory.

    The program was certainly an eye opener for the participants to understand and appreciate the cultural diversity and similarity between these two countries which could be used to embark on future collaborations.
