Bridging Knowledge Across Borders

Almaty, Kazakhstan — The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, officially inaugurated a branch of the National Research University “Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers” (TIIAME-NRU) in Almaty.

The establishment of the branch represents a significant development in the academic and scientific cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. It is intended to expand opportunities for higher education, research collaboration, academic exchange and professional training in fields of strategic importance to Central Asia.

TIIAME-NRU has established academic and research expertise in irrigation, water resources management, agricultural engineering and the application of modern technologies to agricultural development. The new branch in Almaty will provide an additional platform for strengthening regional academic networks and facilitating knowledge exchange between universities, researchers and students from the two countries.

The initiative is particularly relevant in the context of the shared environmental and socioeconomic challenges facing Central Asia.
