SHAH ALAM, MALAYSIA — 30 July 2026 — The Department of Oil and Gas Engineering, Faculty of Chemical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Shah Alam, successfully hosted its final Field Development Plan (FDP) presentation. The capstone defense brought together 28 industry experts from leading oil and gas companies to evaluate the final projects of 91 graduating students.
Divided into 19 specialized FDP groups, students delivered comprehensive technical and economic presentations simulating real-world energy project developments. Senior engineers and technical experts evaluated the proposals, offering direct industry feedback on field feasibility, operational strategy, and environmental sustainability.
The session gave final-year engineering students hands-on exposure to current energy sector standards and expectations. Beyond formal academic evaluation, the capstone defense served as a strategic networking bridge, enabling graduates to connect directly with potential employers, corporate recruiters, and industry mentors before entering the workforce.
By pairing academic defense with direct industry assessment, UiTM continues to boost graduate employability and foster strong collaborative ties with the global energy sector.
