NTU ITRI Honors Five New Laureates

The National Taiwan University Industrial Technology Research Institute (NTU ITRI) held its 2025 Laureate Ceremony, honoring five leaders for contributions to semiconductors, engineering, and biomedicine: Dr. Y.J. Mii (TSMC), Mr. John T. Yu (CTCI), Dr. Chang-Hai Tsai (CMU), Dr. Wei-Jen Lo (TSMC), and Dr. Yen-Hsuan Ni (NTUH/NTU). Taiwan Vice President Bi-khim Hsiao attended, praising ITRI as a bridge connecting industry, government, and academia, and highlighting its pivotal role in technological innovation across AI, healthcare, and traditional industries.


ITRI Chairman Tsung-Tsong Wu noted the laureates’ expertise reflects Taiwan’s strengths in advanced manufacturing, sustainable engineering, and biomedical innovation. Marking ITRI’s 52nd anniversary, the inaugural Innovation Week showcases cross-disciplinary achievements in humanoid robotics, drones, and unmanned systems, emphasizing the Institute’s role in driving AI adoption and industrial transformation.


The laureates shared visions for future collaboration, including sustainable engineering, precision medicine, AI applications, and biotech innovation. Innovation Week (Oct. 15–19) features forums on cross-disciplinary innovation, smart healthcare, industrial transformation, robotics, and drones, alongside IP & Startup Week and a tech exhibition demonstrating AI applications across industries.
