Upcoming Release: QS BRICS University Rankings 2018

This year’s BRICS rankings will be announced at the upcoming 13th QS-APPLE Conference & Exhibition, featuring top 300 universities from Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa – the biggest and most comprehensive yet.

QS BRICS University Rankings 2018 is the latest result soon to be released following the outcome of other QS World University Rankings by Region published in October.

This year’s rankings will feature top 300 universities from Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa – the biggest and most comprehensive yet. The ranking result aids in presenting greater insights into the quality of higher education in some of the world’s fastest-growing economies.

The QS BRICS University Rankings is established in collaboration with the Russian news agency, Interfax, in 2013 and measures universities through eight distinct metrics. The set of metrics consists of academic and employer reputation, proportion of international students and number of academic staff qualified to PhD level.

In the previous edition of the BRICS rankings, it not only witnessed Chinese universities dominating the top five positions, three of which have also improved in rankings in the latest QS World University Rankings; thereby suggesting an inclination for them to thrive again this year. Following close behind was India, the next-highest country to be represented in last year’s ranking. However, Russian universities have also been making significant improvements as well.

With 300 universities being ranked this year it presented the opportunity for new institutions to be one of the game changers as they make it to the top 150.

The complete QS BRICS University Ranking 2018 will be announced on November 23 at the 13th QS-APPLE Conference & Exhibition in Taichung, Taiwan.
