    Unusa presents Hermawan Kartajaya, supports Governor Khofifah to create santri entrepreneurs

    Supporting the East Java Governor’s flagship program ‘One Product Islamic Boarding School’ (one pesantren one product), Surabaya Nahdlatul Ulama University (Unusa) holding a public lecture with speaker Hermawan Kartajaya, Chairman of the Indonesian International Council for Small Business (ICSB) and President of Asia Council for Samll Business (ACSB). The public lecture with the theme ‘Printing Young Entrepreneurs Among Students and Students’ will be attended by East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa.

    The activity was carried out in the 9th floor Auditorium room, Tower Unusa Campus B, Jalan Raya Jemursari, Surabaya, on 18 April 2019.

    “As a college that has a vision of preparing a generation of entrepreneurs based on Islamic values, Unusa always gives debriefing the students from knowing, animating, to implementing entrepreneurship, “said the Chancellor of Unusa Prof. Dr. Ir Achmad Jazidie M.Eng.

    According to Prof. Achmad Jazidie, the strength of entrepreneurship in the Islamic boarding school is extraordinary. So naturally if the superior program of East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa is ‘One Islamic Boarding School One Product’. Expected program can
    produce modern Islamic boarding schools managed by santri.

    To help create modern Islamic boarding school entrepreneurial products, boarding schools
    need institutional assistance. The santri entrepreneurs need guidance concept and access to marketing, packaging techniques, pricing strategies, up to preparation of financial statements.

    Moreover, the central government has established the Santripreneur Program making Islamic boarding schools the source of seeds for new entrepreneurs and growth centers
    micro, small and medium industry sectors. During 2014-2015, there were 28,961 Islamic boarding schools spread throughout Indonesia with more than 4 students million people.

    The development of the digital era is now also believed to be encouraging the santri become agents of strategic change in building the nation and Indonesia’s economy in the future. Especially for the next 10 years, Indonesia will enjoy a demographic or momentum bonus when residents dominated by productive age (15-64 years) which reaches 70%.
    According to Prof. Achmad Jazidie, this public lecture is a continuation of success ‘Entrepreneur Plus Festival’ held by Unusa, in March 2019. It’s high the enthusiasm of young people attracted the attention of the ICSB Indonesia team.

    “From the results of the discussion of this public lecture, we will present it to Congress
    ICSB in Cairo around June-July 2019, “said Prof. Achmad Jazidie. On this occasion the cooperation agreement will also be held at ICSB with Unusa as a campus that has great attention to development of young entrepreneurs in Indonesia.
