    UNUSA Educates Community about COVID-19

Nahdlatul Ulama University of Surabaya (Unusa) held a Real Work Lecture (KKN) which was held in 12 cities and districts throughout East Java. This KKN was inaugrated directly by the Deputy Governor of East Java, H Emil Elestianto Dardak, which was done virtually.

With the theme ‘Learning with Unusa to strengthen Covid-19 responsive communities’, KKN was carried out in 12 cities and districts such as Bangkalan, Bojonegoro, Gresik, Jombang, Lamongan, Magetan, Mojokerto, Pasuruan, Sampang, Sidoarjo, Situbondo and Surabaya.

In the view of the Deputy Governor of East Java, Unusa’s KKN is a pretty good step in the midst of a pandemic. Moreover, the big theme that was taken made students as preventive and promotive agents for the people in East Java.

“With this KKN, students can educate the public about Covid-19,” Emil said.

Emil explained that students can do KKN in their respective environments. However, students can help deal with the Coronavirus.

The former Regent of Trenggalek hopes that the KKN of Unusa students can change new habits. “Don’t let this new habit adaptation forget everything, including health protocols,” he hoped.

In addition, Emil asked students to report if there was a crowd through the InaRisk application or even to the authorities such as the police or the East Java Covid-19 Task Force. “In this application, there is a lot of information related to Covid-19,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Chancellor of Unusa, Achmad Jazidie explained that this year’s KKN was different from the previous one who chose an area because of the pandemic.

“So, this year’s KKN is carried out in the respective student areas to anticipate transmission of the Corona virus,” he explained.

Jazidie explained that during the activity, he collaborated with the East Java Provincial Government to deal with Covid-19.

“So, this method can work together with the East Java Provincial Government to handle and educate the public about Covid-19,” he said.
