    Universiti Teknologi MARA signs MoU with Nottingham Trent University for academic and Research Collaboration

    Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nottingham Trent University (NTU), United Kingdom on the 29th of March 2019, Friday, at UiTM Shah Alam. The MoU was signed by the Vice-Chancellor of UiTM, Professor Ir. Dr. Mohd Azraai Kassim and the Pro Vice-Chancellor (International) of NTU, Professor Cillian Ryan. Professor TPr Dr Jamalunlaili Abdullah, the Dean of Faculty of Architecture, Planning and Surveying, UiTM and Mr. Jason Pandya–Wood, Director of External Partnership & Engagement, NTU together with other delegates from both institutions witnessed the signing ceremony.

    The MoU which was initiated by the Faculty of Architecture, Planning and Surveying, UiTM aims to strengthen international linkages in promoting and developing more academic, cultural and research collaboration. It is also hoped that the MoU will nurture better friendship and co-operation between the two institutions. The MoU incorporates staff and students’ institutional exchange programme; organization of symposia, conferences and short courses; joint research and development projects; and other types of potential collaboration.

    UiTM is a well-known university in Malaysia with an excellent track record in both education and research. The university has developed various collaborative arrangements with many local and international counterparts. Likewise, Nottingham Trent University is an established university in the United Kingdom which has an exceptional reputation in both academic and research development, in partnerships with various international educational institutions.

    Considering both universities have a valuable evidence of academic and research merits, it is hoped that this MoU initiative will create a platform to explore into new ideas of research and academic excellence. This MoU joint-effort is vital to facilitate the research development and intellectual breakthrough in both institutions. Besides research and academic linkages, it is hoped that this MoU will make a significant contribution towards society via local and international industries, businesses and communities.
