    UNAIR Rector Welcomes New Officials

    Forty-eight officials consisting of vice deans and vice directors of Universitas Airlangga were recently inaugurated by UNAIR Rector Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih on October 16, 2020.

    In his speech, Prof. Nasih hoped that the newly appointed vice deans and vice directors will carry out the university’s mandate and bring prosperity to the community.

    “UNAIR is currently ranked 521st in the world. We are entrusted by the Ministry of Education and Culture to enter world’s top 500. The task of the new officials would be to take UNAIR to Top 500 globally,” he said.

    Prof. Nasih, continued that the campus needs the latest innovations to achieve an efficient learning process. Furthermore, UNAIR is also heading towards becoming a Smart University, therefore cooperation and awareness of all parties are a priority.

    He also added that facility upgrades are also required to bring UNAIR as a university that pioneers innovation.

    Furthermore, potential research collaborations for the benefit of the community must also be encouraged so that they can bring sustainable benefits.

    “In the next five years with the latest research and innovation, UNAIR will be able to become a Smart UniversityThis pandemic is our chance to develop and realize our extraordinary ideas, “said Prof. Nasih.

    He also highlighted that the flexibility and sustainability of online learning must be continuously nurtured because these are keys for UNAIR to become a Smart University.

    “In the future, we will also minimize the use of materials that causes accumulation of garbage and support the creation of a green campus,” he said.

    “We must encourage research to overcome existing problems, also in the form of contributions, both in science and in problem-solving, to welcome the glory of mankind,” he added.

    “In addition, curriculum redesign is also needed to improve educational standards”, Prof. Nasih concluded.
