    UNAIR Rector leads panelist team for Indonesian presidential debate

    UNIVERSITAS AIRLANGGA NEWS – Rector of Universitas Airlangga, Prof. Moh Nash SE., M.T., Ak., CMA., has been named coordinator for panelist team of the last presidential debate.

    With nine panelists appointed by General Elections Commission (KPU), Prof. Nasih said he was very confident that the questions would not be leaked to both candidates. Furthermore, Prof. Nasih said the material made by the panelists are focused on the concept of strategic issues.

    “The issues will be focusing on economy, social welfare, finance and investment, trade and industry,” explained Prof. Nasih.

    Regarding to Prof. Nasih as coordinator of presidential debate panelist, Head of Center for Information and Public Relations UNAIR Dr. Suko Widodo M.Si., said that it is a right move.

    “He (Prof. Nasih-ed) is a Professor in Faculty of Economics and Business, obviously it is appropriate with his expertise and knowledge on the issues” said Suko.

    Furthermore, it was noted that during previous debates, several UNAIR members were also involved as panelists.

    “Previously, there were Professor of FK UNAIR Prof. David and former Dean of FISIP UNAIR, Mr. Basis as one of panelist team for presidential debate” he said. “It was a proof that UNAIR academics received appreciation from government.” he continued.

    There are 10 panelists in the team. They are UNAIR Rector Prof. Mohammad Nasih, Professor of FEB Universitas Tanjungpura Prof. Eddy Suratman, FEB Lecturer at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Dr. Muhammad Arief Mufraini, Dean of FEB Universitas Diponegoro Dr. Suhartono and Dean of FEB Universitas Sam Ratulangi Dr. Herman Karamoy.

    Furthermore, there were Dean of FEB Universitas Udayana Dr. I Nyoman Mahaendra Yasa, Dean of Faculty of Economics Universitas Andalas Dr. Harif Amali Riva’i, Professor of ITB Prof. Dr. Ir. Dermawan Wibisono, lecturer in Community Development at Unika Semarang Soegijapranata Tukiman Taruno Sayoga Ph.D and Executive Director of Indonesia Global Justice (IGJ) Rahmi Hertanti.
