    UNAIR holds meeting with National Pingtung University to extend partnership

    UNIVERSITAS AIRLANGGA NEWS – One step towards Top 500 World Class University (WCU ) by Airlangga University is from collaboration with reputable foreign universities. UNAIR cooperates with various overseas partners.

    Regarding this collaboration, Airlangga Global Engagement (AGE) held a meeting with National Pingtung University of Science and Technology (NPUST), Taiwan, on October 29, 2019. The meeting was held in Assembly Room A of UNAIR Management Office.

    Vice Rector III Prof. Ir. Moch. Amin Alamsjah, M.Si., Ph.D, explained that the meeting was a follow up to the previous partnership program that between NPUST and UNAIR, especially with Faculty of Fisheries and Marine. The program has lasted one year through collaborative research with professors.

    “Some of the lecturers from UNAIR Faculty of Fisheries were graduated from there, and this year we also sent a Ph.D student to study  there,” said Prof. Amin.

    The results of the meeting included continuing joint research, both with the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine and college culture. Furthermore, there are opportunities for collaboration between the Faculty of Humanities and Indonesian Language Learning Center Office. Collaboration will bring together professional professors, assistant professors, and international conference collaboration.

    Prof. Amin said, the form of cooperation is not only in the form of staff and student exchanges, but also summer courses and AMERTA programs. In his explanation, the offer can be followed up in the near future.

    “We need to follow up on the existing partnership, the draft for the MoU has been processed. So in the near future Inshaallah we continue research collaboration by bringing in adjunct professor, as well as student mobility, ” he said.

    With this meeting, Prof. Amin hoped that the collaboration with NPUST will not stop with only three faculties, but also with other faculties. Besides, with the existing collaboration with several credible NPUST colleges, especially those that have collaboration with industry, UNAIR can improve its academic performance. (*)
