UNAIR FEB collaborates with Fukuoka University

UNIVERSITAS AIRLANGGA NEWS – Internationalization programs continue to be improved by Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR). One of them is maintaining collaboration with international university partners. Through an event initiated by Airlangga Global Engagement (AGE), Fukuoka University, Japan, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB).

The event taking place on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 in Kahuripan Room 303 UNAIR Management Office was attended by representatives from FEB Dr. Nisful Laila, S.E, M.Com, and Faculty of Commerce Fukuoka University Prof. Wataru Nagatsuka and Ass. Prof. Yutaka Hayashi. The two institutions discussed a student exchange program for students and lecturers.

“The main objective is bringing UNAIR to international class, both for students and their lecturers,” said Nisful, Vice Dean III of FEB UNAIR.

“We signed the MoU with Fukuoka University, and there will be around 50 students coming from Fukuoka University to UNAIR in August, “she added.

In addition to the student exchange program, there is a summer program carried out every year. Moreover, the program itself included guest lectures and research.

According to Nisful, these activities can provide many benefits for students. They will learn the different cultures, international insight, and international languages as well.

“They (students of Fukuoka University, ed) will learn about Indonesian culture, local business, also communicate with Indonesian students in UNAIR,” she said.

The visit, she continued, is a collaboration that gives benefits for both parties. It is hoped that this cooperation will bring a positive impact.

“Hopefully, the plan will run smoothly and bring positive impacts for both universities in the future,” she concluded. (*)
