    UNAIR Faculty of Law Hosts 2019 International Law Conference

    UNIVERSITAS AIRLANGGA NEWS – Faculty of Law (FH) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) is involved in various types of academic collaboration. One of them is conducted by hosting an international conference, International Law Conference (I-NLAC) 2019 at the Swiss-Belinn Hotel, Manyar, Surabaya, from Wednesday, October 16 to Thursday, October 17. It was about Legal Challenges on Industrial Revolution 4.0.

    Ekawestri Prajwalita Widiati as the event manager explained that the implementation of I-NLAC was under the auspices of the Research, Community Service, and Scientific Publications Development Unit. It was the second conference and the first opportunity for FH UNAIR to be a host. Previously, I-NLAC was held in 2018 at University of Technology, MARA Shah Alam (UiTM).

    “I-NLAC is part of the collaboration between FH UNAIR with a number of local and international universities such as UiTM, Padjadjaran University, and Western Sydney University. This year Gadjah Mada University joined in the joint implementation of the conference. The collaboration has been initiated since last year. Furthermore, at the same time the first conference was held, “explained Wiwid.

    She also explained that the forum specifically discussed the legal perspective in viewing challenges of Industrial Revolution 4.0 era related to several subtopics such as Law and Technology, Intellectual Property Right, Economics, Financial and Sustainable Development, Government and Policy, International Law, Marine Biodiversity, Environmental and Health Law, Cultural Heritage, Criminal Justice, to Islamic Law.

    “In total there were 120 participants coming from partner universities and external parties, such as from Afghanistan, Pakistan, India and Sydney. We also invited some speakers, Prof. Dr. Ahmad M. Ramli (UNPAD), Prof. Joseph Tanega ( Vrije Universiteit ), Prof. Dr. Hartini Saripan (UiTM), Prof. Michael Head ( Western University ), and the Dean of FH UNAIR, Nurul Barizah, PhD, “said the lecturer in Constitutional Law.

    In her remarks, Nurul Barizah hoped that I-NLAC would not only be a place for exchanging knowledge, but also as a forum for all participants to find solutions to solve problems related to the Industrial Revolution 4.0. She also encouraged participants to actively participate during the event. Nurul also gave presentations in several topics. (*)
