    UNAIR Establish Partnership with Liverpool John Moores University

    UNIVERSITAS AIRLANGGA NEWS – Various efforts have been made by Universitas Airlangga to improve its reputation and global recognition. One of them was by developing collaboration with prominent universities in England, Liverpool John Moores University.

    In Liverpool, United Kingdom on Monday, September 23, UNAIR Rector and staff visited and signed an MoU. The activity was a follow up to previous Liverpool John Moores University’s visit to UNAIR.

    In his remarks, Prof. Nasih said that after Liverpool John Moores University’s visit to UNAIR, he had identified potential collaborations on joint research patterns.

    “Of course, all of them cannot be separated from the main mission to support UNAIR to be among Top 500 world universities in 2020,” he said.

    Prof. Nasih also said that through Airlangga Global Engagement, UNAIR continues to communicate with Liverpool John Moores University to facilitate faculties in discussing joint research topics. UNAIR also wants to utilize its existing programs into the collaborations.

    “They include UNAIR’s mobility program mechanisms such as Attracting Global Talent, Visiting Fellow, Adjunct Professor, and Post-Doctoral Fellowship.,” said Prof. Nasih.

    Furthermore, Prof. Nasih also said that he was ready to welcome experts and professors from Liverpool John Moores University who were willing to be recruited as adjunct professors for one year at UNAIR. Later on, the experts will conduct various activities such as teaching for some credits in class or seminar. They can also provide scientific article writing clinics for postgraduate students.

    “It is useful to increase the number of international research and publications and it is important to develop an international collaboration that leads to international publications and towards World Class University,” said Prof. Nasih.

    In the end, Prof. Nasih also encouraged UNAIR academics to explore collaboration in the double degree program that has been running between UNAIR and overseas universities. However, the most important thing is the sustainability of collaboration.

    “We also hope that partnership with Liverpool John Moores University can go on. Thank you for the commitment and let us have more exchanges and discussion to expand our networking, to face the global challenge in the contemporary world, “concluded Prof. Nasih.
