    UNAIR co-hosts Asian Undergraduate Summit 2019

    UNIVERSITAS AIRLANGGA NEWS – Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) supported the organization of International Asia Undergraduate Summit (AUS) 2019 themed “Leadership in a Complex World: Harnessing Untapped Potential”. The program is initiated by National University of Singapore (NUS).

    This is the fourth year for Universitas Airlangga as a co-host of international events. This event was held from Monday, July 8 to Saturday, July 13 at Campus C UNAIR.

    There were 36 participants, consisting of 10 UNAIR students and 26 students from various universities in Asia, such as from Malaysia, Thailand, South Korea, China, and several other Asian countries.

    At the opening of the event, there were UNAIR Vice Rector I Prof. Djoko Santoso Dr., Ph.D., Sp.PD.K-GH.FINASIM; Airlangga Global Engagement Secretary Dian Ekowati, S.E., M.Si, M.AppCom (OrgCh)., Ph.D .; and Head of Sub Directorate of International Education Development Directorate of Academic Affairs UNAIR Syahrur Marta Dwi Susilo, S.Si., M.A., Ph.D. The opening ceremony was held on Tuesday, July 7 in Kahuripan Room 300, UNAIR Management Office.

    In his remarks, Prof. Djoko expressed his gratitude to the participants for their enthusiasm in participating in this international activity. From these activities, he hoped participants could be proactive and help each other in shaping the future of education, especially by offering a solution to current problems in the surrounding environment.

    “Personally, I hope there will be more ideas, arguments, suggestions, and various opinions in answering global challenges,” said Prof. Djoko.

    Moreover, the participants were given materials according to the theme and given the opportunity to discuss various problems. Ranging from cyber law to cyber communication, which has been discussed in recent years.

    Participants were also given the opportunity to express their leadership  through group projects and individual records. During the program, participants also experienced the cultural wealth of Indonesia through various  form of cultural activities. (*)
