Zaim Syahmi Yusnuzam Azirul, 19, an accounting student currently pursuing his professional course in Association of Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA) at Universiti Teknologi MARA, the largest public university in Malaysia, recently obtained an award from the professional body for his outstanding performance.

Zaim obtained a score of 98 percent, the highest mark, placing him first in Malaysia and worldwide for the paper ‘Foundations in Financial Management’ (FFM) December 2018 examination. FMM is one the last optional papers out of 9 in the CAT qualification. The award was presented to him by Robert Stenhouse, the president of ACCA at a prize-giving ceremony in Kuala Lumpur to commemorate the achievement of CAT and ACCA top achievers

“Studying for a professional qualification is very challenging. However, my passion for studying accounting, facilitated by UiTM’s highly experienced and supportive lecturers, made my journey very smooth and successful”, exclaimed Zaim.

The Faculty of Accountancy, UiTM was awarded the ‘Platinum Status’ by ACCA in 2011, officially making the institution as one of ACCA’s Approved Learning Partner. It is the only public university in Malaysia that offers full-time professional accounting course with ‘Platinum Status’. In October 2018, due to the Faculty’s commitment in offering high quality resources and its great support for CAT and ACCA students, it was presented with an accreditation award known as ‘BPP Tuition Solutions Associate Provider’ by BPP (UK).
