The visit was welcomed by Prof. Dr. Ni Nyoman Tri Puspaningsih, Dra., M.Si., the Vice Rector for Academic, Student and International Affairs, UNAIR and Dr. Hadi, the Director of Student Affairs from UNAIR. During the Leadership Convention, students from both universities exchanged knowledge and skills in terms of leadership particularly in the challenge of the fourth industrial revolution (IR 4.0) This is really crucial as students need to follow the trend in the digital age and must be able to adapt to the necessary skill requirement.

As part of the CSR programme UiTM and UNAIR joined forces together to serve people of Kampung Jolosutro for about 3 days. The participants were divided into groups of 2 to 3 people with the same mates to be adopted by the villagers for the 3-day programme. Some of the exciting activities included fixing solar panel system, hydroponic-planting by using recycled pipe, teaching primary school students and making banana chips with the villagers for income generation. The experience gained include the abilities to face life challenges, talking to people at different levels of age, cooperation in doing some tasks in order to succeed and networking. The students also visited the oldest and famous village in Indonesia, Kampung Lawas Maspati. In addition, the UiTM students were exposed to the culture, language and tradition of Surabaya people.
