Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia has a dynamic joint venture program with the Space Agency Malaysia (MYSA) and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation. The bilateral discussions and agreements have led the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (FKE), UiTM, and MYSA to collaborate on research and development of Remote Sensing technology and other related technologies such as Geographic Information System, satellite image services, Global Occupational System and Information Systems and Communication.
A memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between UiTM andMYSA on 29 April 2019. This collaboration has led to the contribution of laboratory equipment from MYSA to FKE in the form of 14 types of assets comprising 38 items with a grand value of RM 17,056,694.46.
The grant was awarded to Assoc. Prof. Ir. Gs. Ts. Dr. Norsuzila Ya’acob from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering UiTM. This contribution is expected to enhance the teaching and learning process and drive UiTM in the research and development area for the commercialization of Optical Remote Sensing and Radar system.
