    UiTM Accelerates Academic Momentum through Dual Degree PhD with UNWE, Bulgaria

    Accounting Research Institute (ARI), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) and University of National and World Economy (UNWE), Bulgaria extended their  boundary by academic providing an enhanced learning environment through a Dual Degree PhD programmes in Financial Criminology. A memorandum of agreement (MoA) was signed on 24th September 2019 Vice-Chancellor of   UiTM,   Prof. Emeritus Ir. Dr Mohd Azraai Kassim, and UNWE representative, Prof. Dr Nikolay Sterev. Others present are the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic & International, Rector of UiTM (Kedah Branch) and UNWE delegates. The MoA was initiated by UiTM Kedah Branch Research and Industrial Linkages Deputy Director, Assoc. Prof. Dr Roshima Said and her team.

    Students enrolled for this programme will spend equal semesters in UiTM  and UNWE to fulfil the compulsory requirements of both universities. This programme offer a broader research perspective and learning experience for students. Upon graduation, students will be conferred two degrees from both universities.

    The UiTM Vice-Chancellor highlighted that “…the main aim of this programme is  to push the research frontier in financial criminology to greater heights with expertise from the Asian and European region…”.

    Among the benefits of this dual doctoral programme is the opportunity to study and conduct research under the supervision of experts from two institutions. Besides that, students are also exposed to international research experience and gain access to research facilities and training from both universities. Most importantly, the graduates will enjoy a dual degree doctorate  which is highly recognized by the EU countries.
