UAE took a major step for women’s rights by approving equal pay

The UAE Cabinet has recently authorised a bill that attests equal pay for both genders in the workforce. However, the bill has yet to be presented to the nation’s country’s advisory federal national council for final approval.

According to a report by The World Economic Forum, in 2017, the UAE was ranked 120 out of 144 countries, underlining gender gaps worldwide. As such, the motion is deemed as being a step forward, calling the world’s attention to UAE’s commitment to women’s rights. The latest approved gender pay gap law places emphasis on the commitment in the workplace which will empower women to seek equal opportunities and play a part towards the advancement of UAE.
