The first Russian system for electronics developers was presented at ETU “LETI”

Representatives of the largest Russian specialized enterprises discussed the pressing problems of domestic circuit engineers and designers of printed circuit boards at the EREMEX Radio Day conference at ETU “LETI.”

Representatives of more than 20 specialized enterprises of Russia gathered at ETU “LETI” at the EREMEX Radio Day conference dedicated to the design of printed circuit boards using the first domestic CAD software called Delta Design.

On the first day, May 28, a plenary session took place. The participants were representatives of leading instrument-making enterprises: concerns – Gidropribor, Aurora, Okepribor, Signal Enterprise, Radioavionika, Television Research Institute, VNIIRA, Russian Institute for Power Radioengineering, Research Institute of Command Devices, Leninets Industrial Association, Okeanos, AGAT-SYSTEM, Line, Bi Pitron, Aviatrans, SD-Innovations, Ural Optical-Mechanical Plant, ATIKS Electronic Systems, TMH Engineering, EFO, and Samara University.

Viktor Tupik, Vice-Rector for Strategic Development at ETU “LETI,” greeted the guests. He talked about the features of training at the leading technical university in Russia, a participant in the Project 5-100.

“Unfortunately, there are few such departments in Russia that train specialists who understand the essence of a radio-electronic device, who know how to design it and how to transfer this design into production. Our university is the only one in St. Petersburg who graduates specialists of this profile.”

Viktor Tupik, Vice-Rector for Strategic Development at ETU “LETI”

Sergey Sorokin, General Director of EREMEX, a company developing a CAD system called Delta Design, addressed the audience with a welcoming speech. He noted that today the cooperation of one of the leading oldest Russian technical higher educational institutions in Europe and the leading domestic software developer has entered a new phase.

“Delta Design is now the only domestic computer-aided design system in this area, and we believe that it has great prospects not only in the domestic market. We expect that the students with certain knowledge received within the walls of ETU “LETI” will successfully apply them in practice,” the General Director of EREMEX said.

As part of the event, EREMEX and ETU “LETI” signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of training and retraining of engineering and academic personnel in the field of computer-aided design. The signed document opens up new horizons for joint work on the formation of relevant professional competencies in the field of information technology among students, a staff of educational and research departments.

“Today, it is impossible to imagine those who create equipment for special purposes and wide application without automated systems. It develops so that the life cycle of products is increasingly reduced. Products are being updated quickly, and we cannot avoid this trend. Thanks to the support of EREMEX, we have the opportunity to conduct training using the computer-aided design system Delta Design, which we have already included in the educational process last year.”

Viktor Tupik, Vice-Rector for Strategic Development at ETU “LETI”

Successful cooperation between ETU “LETI” and the leading domestic software developer will allow modernizing the educational process to meet the requirements of the modern labor market. This will increase not only the efficiency of the education process but also the degree of successful employment of graduates of the university.

“We need qualified programmers, designers, development engineers engaged in testing. Our company employs design engineers engaged in system software, making trial projects. We are interested in qualified, ambitious graduates who are ready to engage in high-tech activities.”

Sergey Sorokin, General Director of EREMEX

At the plenary session of the first day of the event, six reports of EREMEX representatives, specialists of St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University “LETI” and technological partners and representatives of industry took place. It continued in sectional sessions on the themes: “Schematic Design and Modeling” and “Designing Printed Circuit Boards in Delta Design CAD System”.

On the second day, May 29, a workshop took place, which allowed developers of radio-electronic equipment to get acquainted with the designing electronics in Delta Design CAD system in practice.

The joint seminar EREMEX Radio Day gave its participants the opportunity to directly contact the developers of modern Russian CAD software, see how relevant practical problems of the industry are solved, and receive recommendations on how to implement the system in the enterprise.
