Kuala Lumpur, 1st to 2nd August 2018 – The 4th edition of International Conference of Chemical Engineering and Industrial Biotechnology 2018 (ICCEIB 2018) was successfully organized by Faculty of Chemical and Natural Resources Engineering (FKKSA), Universiti Malaysia Pahang. Taking place in Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia, this biennial conference was attended by 225 participants comprised scientists, industry practitioners and researchers from within Malaysia as well as from around the globe such as South Korea, Japan, United Kingdom, Australia, Russia, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, India, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Sudan etc. ICCEIB 2018 conference received collaboration from the Energy Institute of Malaysia, Centre of Excellence for Advanced Research in Fluid Flow (CARiFF) and also Forest Research Institute of Malaysia (FRIM). In a significant milestone, this conference was also receiving strong support from the International Association of Hydrogen Energy (IAHE) and International Journal of Hydrogen Energy.
The opening ceremony of ICCEIB 2018 conference was completed by the Chief Secretary of Ministry of Education Malaysia, The Honourable Dato’ Dr. Mohd Gazali Abas, Vice Chancellor of Universiti Malaysia Pahang, Professor Dato’ Sri. Dr. Daing Nasir Ibrahim, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research & Innovation), Professor Dato’ Dr. Mashitah Mohd Yusoff, Assistant Vice Chancellor (Industry Partnership & Community Relation Department), Professor Dr. Jamil Ismail and also the Dean of FKKSA, Professor Zulkafli Hassan.
According to Professor Dato’ Sri Dr. Daing, ICCEIB 2018 conference provides a very vital platform for fellow scientists and researchers to exchange idea and also to share their experience in the field of chemical engineering and biotechnology through presentation and publication of latest technology as well as methods to solve urgent issues pertaining to food, energy and water. This edition of ICCEIB conference also has witnessed a total of 5 keynote presentations delivered by prominent speakers, (1) Professor Dr. Neal Chung Tai-Shung from National University of Singapore, (2) Professor Dr. Weeratunge Malalasekera from University of Loughborough UK, (3) Professor Dr. Nor Aishah Saidina Amin of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, (4) Mr. Jan Peter Bredehoeft representing BASF PETRONAS Chemicals and also (5) Mr. Murali Samudram from Nestle (M) Sdn. Bhd.
According to organizer, more than 200 manuscripts, after peer-review process, will be published in Special Issues of high impact factor journals such as Catalysis Today (Elsevier), International Journal of Hydrogen Energy (Elsevier), Journal of Environmental Chemical Engineering (Elsevier), Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research (ACS), Journal of Chemical Technology & Biotechnology (Wiley) and also Chemical Engineering & Technology (Wiley). In addition, Scopus-indexed journals such as Indonesian Journal of Chemistry as well as Bulletin of Chemical Reaction Engineering & Catalysis also partnered with this conference for publication.
