Team Foxtrot, Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology, Pakistan won the Highest Placed New Entrant Award

Team Foxtrot from Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute, Pakistan, is a part of IMechE GIK Chapter and was founded in September 2018 by a group of bright and talented students who won the Design-Build Fly Competition 2018, conducted by Higher Education Commission. The team is managed solely by students, overlooking the aspects of manufacturing and design, as well as media engagement and management.

On 16th June 2019, Team Foxtrot participated in the IMechE UAS Challenge, which was held in Llanbedr, Wales. This was the first time that a team from GIK Institute participated in this competition. IMechE UAS Challenge is a unique competition that challenges students around the world to design, build and fly an autonomous aircraft, which can drop off humanitarian aid packages to certain marked zones in the airfield. The challenge itself presented a hypothetical situation where the team has to drop payloads with precision to those areas that are inaccessible, owing to any infrastructure hindrance or natural disaster. Its focus is simple; to inspire the young minds to push the boundaries of design innovation and aircraft automation to a greater level.
