RBAC Launches Nursing Science Program, Thammasat Hospital to Mentor the internships

Rattana Bundit University (RBAC) launches “Nursing Science Program, New Program 2020”. It is the first time in medical history that Thailand Nursing and Midwifery Council agreed to open a Nursing Science Program. The program is open for people who graduate from Bachelor degree and love this profession. They can apply for it and can finish the program in two and a half years.

Asst.Prof.Dr.Janejira Rattanapian, Vice Director of Rattana Bundit University (RBAC), says that “it is the first program in Thailand that allows people who graduate in any field of study, both science and language, to study nursing program. There is no age limit. Anyone who loves to study and has GPAX not less than 2.5 can apply to this program. Therefore, people who are unemployed and want to change their job have a chance to learn nursing science programs. We have reduced study time to two and a half years because we can transfer credits and selected courses.

The director of RBAC emphasizes, “even though we reduce study time, the program is high quality in nursing science teaching both practical and theoretical. Moreover, we focus on language, technology, and cultures. We facilitate students with high technology gadgets that give them real studying experience, for example, Smart Classroom, Robot, Sim Mom, Sim Man, and Sim Baby. We have a modern learning style, Transformative Learning, that students can have a practical practice and work in hospital after they graduate. We want potential students to fully work as a nurse and perform tasks like basic patient diagnosis.”

For the internship, Asst.Prof.Dr.Janejira says that Thammasat University Hospital will be a mentor. We also collaborate with other hospitals. No more than 70 students will be accepted annually. Studying will be based on campus in Pathum Thani which is located 5 km. away from Thammasat University, Rangsit campus. This campus will build and transform itself to be an international medical center.
