Cooperatively with Springer Nature, the world’s largest research, educational, and professional publisher, Dr. Jung-Sup Um(professor of geography at Kyungpook National University, KNU) has recently published a journal titled ‘Drones as Cyber-Physical Systems, Concepts, and Applications for the Fourth Industrial Revolution.’
Instead of chasing changes of a future society based on theory or anticipation without objective evidence or basis, this book introduces drones as an actual example of core means of the 4th industrial revolution. Explaining the principle of unmanned vehicles from the viewpoint of users is an easy way for most people to understand how a person would experience the drone technology, a leading technology of the 4th industrial revolution.

Dr. Um has been editor-in-chief of Spatial Information Research, one of the international journals published by Springer Nature since 2016. Dr. Um’s journal was published in Spatial Information Research and selected as the most cited journal after it was unloaded onto the Web of Science, the most renowned web-based research platform. In recognition of this, he was awarded for being the most cited from the Korea Spatial Information Society in May 2019.
