    President University Foundation Donates to Hospitals in Surrounding Area to Battle COVID-19

    President University Foundation and Jababeka Group, along with companies within the Jababeka Industrial Area distributed donation to hospitals in Bekasi Regency area. The donation distributed was in the form of cash donation, personal protective equipment (PPE), hand sanitizer, disinfectant liquid, food, and other items to support doctors, nurses, and other medical staff in treating COVID-19 patients.

    Symbolically, the donation was given to the Chief of Indonesian Private Hospital Association or Asosiasi Rumah Sakit Swasta Indonesia (ARSSI) of Purwakarta Regency, Bekasi Regency, and Karawang Regency Branch, dr. Iskandar Suhardi, on Wednesday, 8 April 2020 at Charles Himawan Auditorium, President University, Cikarang Utara in an event called
    “Bantuan Perusahaan Kawasan Jababeka: Gotong Royong”.

    Initiated by the Founder of President University Foundation, S.D. Darmono, D.Univ. (Hon), this donation comes from the President University Foundation, President University, Jababeka Group, and companies in the Jababeka Industrial Area. Through this collaboration, up until 7 April 2020, approximately 396 million rupiah was collected along with donations in the form of goods valued at approximately 6.7 billion rupiah.

    Rector of President University, Prof. Dr. Jony Oktavian Haryanto, stated that this collaboration between academicians, entrepreneurs, and the government is a good thing that should be continued. He further explained that this collaboration shows that President University, Jababeka Group, President University Foundation and all of their units do not turn a blind eye to what currently is going on and instead work together to share and ease the burden of those who are directly or indirectly affected by this pandemic.

    Today’s event marked the initial stage of the donation distribution. The fundraising will remain open to support the government’s and the public’s efforts to battle COVID-19.
