    PNU has achieved a progress with 47 levels in the “UI Green Metric 2019” rankings

    In a new achievement, Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University has jumped 47 levels compared with its level in the last year in the “UI Green Metric 2019” ranking that measures the development of the friendly environment infrastructure through 6 indicators. The university was ranked 138 out of 780 universities and number 2 locally. The six indicators are based on a specific classification methodology which are: Setting & Infrastructure (SI), Energy & Climate Change (ES), Waste (WS), Water (WR), Transportation (TR) and Education & Research (ED).

    This world university ranking has been launched by the University of Indonesia in 2010, which is considered a non-profit classification and first ranking to measure the sustainability of the universities. It  is considered as a tool to deal with the sustainability challenges facing our world to make university buildings environmentally friendly and reduce the environmental negative impacts.

    In this regard, the University’s Vice Rector for Development and Quality, Dr. Huda AlWohaibi, explained that this ranking enhances sustainability in education and contributes in the social changes that are led by universities regarding  the objectives of sustainability. It is also considered a tool for self-evaluation in the sustainability of the Higher education institutions around the world. It helps as well in informing governments, environmental agencies and society about the campus sustainability program.This ranking has also develop the efforts to increase awareness of the sustainability importance issues.

    It is worth mentioning that the University’s Rectorate for Development and Quality at PNU is working to raise the efficiency of the university’s performance and achieve its goals for developing academic and administrative performance by creating an organizational environment that is commensurate with the quality requirements and academic accreditation. In addition, it spreads the culture of quality and applying quality assurance standards at all levels.
