Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University has won the “Arab Social Networking Pioneers” Award in Education category in a large event to honor the winners organized by the directives and patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai within the Summit of Social Networking Leaders at its third session, which is held annually in Dubai, in the United Arab of Emirates.
The award aims to honor the capabilities of Arab social networking leaders, enhance their creative thinking, and employ the means of social networking in an optimal manner as well as the participation of all institutions and society segments in promoting the role of social media at different levels, especially with the increase of their great impact with the technological and technical progress and use them as a media platforms to broadcast news that contributes effectively in the development of Arab societies.
The annual award highlights the major social networking initiatives in 20 categories across different sectors and disciplines. The most influential and distinguished figures and institutions have been honored on social networking sites in the categories of government agencies, private sector, blogs, media, sports, youth, technology, entrepreneurship, economics, politics, health, arts, security and safety, shopping, environment, tourism and entertainment.
The university won the award in the category of Education for its distinctive interaction with the internal and external audience through its accounts on the social network platforms, sharing with them: news, events and activities, and providing them with services, support and communication. Furthermore, the university keen to care about spreading cultural awareness and enriching knowledge in various fields for all society members.
It is worth mentioning that the “Arab Social Networking Pioneers Award” honors creativity and creatives who create and strengthen communication channels between different communities and have significant force on the development, prosperity and progress of their societies through the social media. The wining of Princess Nourah University is considered the first one among the Saudi universities at the “Arab Social Networking” Summit.
